New large office complex to service over 600 new Boeing employees in the state of Oklahoma.
What impact does this project have on America?
This project will create jobs and help build new lives here in Oklahoma.
What interesting obstacles or unusual circumstances did you overcome to complete the project?
When we initially started the earthwork on the project in June of 2015 we expected a dry summer. In the first 60 days on the project we encountered over 30 days of rain. With a project that does not have a flexible schedule like this one this was an issue, and we had to deal with it. We completed a 40,000 CY select import pad and 80,000 CY on site cut and fill process all on time and on budget.
What dangers and risks did you encounter, and describe any extraordinary methods used to keep workers safe?
Every morning on this project we have our crews meet for a safety talk to discuss what activities they will be performing that day and the risks involved with each piece of equipment being used. Every employee also must wear a safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses and cut resistant gloves.
How did you leverage new technologies to work faster and reduce waste?
On this project we used a lot of GPS equipment to reduce surveying and also save on wood not used for stakes and blue tops. This also allowed us to move quickly on the job and complete work in areas that were dryer than others.
